Philly Creative Guide :: 2008 Creative Mega Social
by Juanita Berge, 1 Jan 2009
The Philly Creative Guide is the region's most complete directory of creative professionals, firms and resources.
Its purpose is simple: To help foster relationships within one of the most vibrant creative communities in
America.
Event photos were shot by Brad Gellman Photography and can be
viewed in the Philly Creative Guide Flickr Album.
Once again the fine folks at PhillyCreativeGuide.com have brought you this region's premiere social event for
creatives everywhere. The group was eclectic, the food plentiful, the music hot and the atmosphere rockin'. The
crowd swelled around 7:30 – 8:00 pm. The nine organizations represented there had lots of information to
impart to the raring guests, several of whom had wide-screen visual set-ups at their tables.
North Bowl Lounge n' Lanes outdid itself with the
buffet that night, which saw a wide variety of goodies to indulge the guests throughout the evening. The raffle
towards the end of the evening saw 13 winners of the varied prizes supplied by participating organizations –
including an Ipod Shuffle, $100 gift certificates, 2G memory cards, a $50 coupon to North Bowl and much more.
The atmosphere was one of camaraderie, connection and good times.
Organizations new to the mix this year included:
They fit right in as guests thronged their tables and found out all about them. They were accompanied by Mega
Social stalwarts:
Innovation Philadelphia and Allied Pixel were this year's sponsors.
The charity this year was the same as in years past - the U.S. Marine
Corps Toys-For-Tots Program. The Marines report that
this year's haul was fourteen boxes (that's 45"h x 24"w x 20"l) of toys. In fact, the Marines report that the
PhillyCreativeGuide.com annual Mega Social is the biggest provider of toys out of all their events, and has been for
the 3 years we've been hosting the event! We can all be proud of ourselves for that distinction.
Many, many thanks to all those who went the extra mile to bring in an unwrapped, new toy for our community's needy
children. We at the PhillyCreativeGuide, and the Toys-For-Tots program are very grateful. The number and sheer
variety of toys was truly something to behold.
With sheer numbers of toys come sheer numbers of people. Despite the wet weather over 400 people were out to attend
the Mega Social this year. Networking opportunities abounded with freelancers, agency people, business owners and
nine different organizations on hand.

You can be a part of this creative mélange too by attending next year's PhillyCreativeGuide Mega Social.
We're already planning for it - you should too. What has turned into a Philadelphia tradition is the best place to
meet, greet and connect with like-minded, career-driven individuals in every sector of the creative industry.
